Clear Food Culture welcomes pitches that help readers understand the words and design choices they encounter on food packaging. A strong contribution makes one subject clearer without turning a label into a promise it cannot support.
Subjects we welcome
Pitch an explanation of a food term, a comparison of two kinds of label wording, an account of how ingredient lists are presented, or an examination of how packaging guides attention. We are especially interested in focused pieces with a clear reader question and a useful distinction at the centre.
What to include
Send a short outline of the proposed article, its central point and why it suits Clear Food Culture. Name the wording or packaging feature you would examine and explain how the piece would avoid overstating its meaning. Please flag any relevant commercial connection. Keep pitches specific; a broad subject is easier to assess when narrowed to one clear question.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option for your proposal. Include your name and a way to reply through the form. We cannot promise acceptance or publication, and a submitted pitch should not be treated as an assignment.
Good choices begin with clear words
Food language can be useful, confusing or both at once. We slow it down, examine what a phrase actually says and leave room for readers to make their own call.
